My friends Margie and Mike decided to take a trip to Schnucks and Shop ‘n Save today to see what they could do with a little bit of time and a few hot deals!

Here’s what they got:

Shop ‘n Save

18 Sweet Baby Ray’s Marinades $1.00
(5/22 SS) Save $1.00/1
Final Price: 18 for FREE
12 Ken’s Salad Dressings $1.00
(5/8 SS) Save $1.00/1
Final Price: 12 for FREE
3 Yakisoba Noodles .78
(3/13 SS) Save .50/1
Final Price: 3 for .84
54 Kool-Aid .13 each
(3/13 SS) Buy 2, Get 1 Free or Buy 10, Get 5 Free
Final Price: 54 for $4.68

Per their receipt, they saved 94% or $88.98 and ended up with a Final Price of $5.59.

21 Weber Grill Creations $1.00 each
(3/27 SS) Save $1.00/1
Final Price: 21 for FREE

After coupons, they paid $.26 in sales tax.

They ended up spending $5.85 on $150+ in products!

Of course you don’t have to purchase this many items and please don’t clear the shelves but this is an example of what using Sales matched with Coupons can do for you! A rule of thumb in the couponing world is to buy a 3 month supply when the hot sale comes around because the sales cycle will come back through in 12 weeks.

That's ridiculous. I hope they send some of that to Joplin or something

You can donate the excess to the families in Joplin.

I'm SO glad you included an extreme example of couponing at Schnucks and Shop n' Save. Grocery shopping is the part that I have the most trouble with. I've done pretty well getting great deals on toothpaste, deoderants, paper towels, and other "dry" goods. Sometimes even cereals are easy to do…it's just all the other stuff that I find difficult. Thanks for sharing!

How many transactions did you do? I thought you could only use 15 coupons per transaction? Great job btw!! :)

Thank you for the advice, great deal!
