It’s October and of course there are a ton of the fun things to do around the city for Halloween! Here’s a fun list of events around town for families to enjoy.

Come explore the Zoo after dark during the special Halloween evenings: Boo at the Zoo Nights! This non-scary, kid-friendly Halloween experience is filled with laughs and adventure. Children are encouraged to wear costumes. Children 12-and-under will receive a treat bag upon exiting. Boo at the Zoo Nights is not a trick-or-treating experience.

From 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm, get into the spirit with some spooky family fun. Enjoy themed shows, a DJ in the Bauernhof courtyard, and themed Deer Park rides with Halloween lights!
Parking is $20 per car. Walk-ins at $5 per person. Children 2 and under are free.
PEANUTS ™ The Great Pumpkin Patch Express Train Ride:
You’ll meet Snoopy and Lucy in the St. Louis Union Station pumpkin patch and join the Peanuts crew as they travel around St. Louis on a real train ride.

The Magic House – Not-So-Haunted House

It’s the Not-So-Haunted House that is oh-so-fun! Kids of all ages are invited to dress in their most “boo”tiful Halloween costumes and have a ghoulishly good time trick or treating and getting autographs from their favorite storybook characters at this candy-free celebration. This year’s Halloween event will include a special visit from more than 15 storybook characters.

Plus, join us for a special Happy, Healthy Halloween celebration on Friday, October 30th, 10:00 am – 2:00 pm where kids can participate in activities such as a cardio dance party, an interactive demonstration by a St. Louis Children’s Hospital chef and a scavenger hunt through the Museum for healthy treats and more.
There’s lots of ghoulish fun for young and old during this hayride through Eckert’s haunted orchard. Haunted hayrides take place every Friday and Saturday night (after the sun goes down) September 18th through October 30th. One free haunted hayride is included with each paid admission. Eckerts JUMPIN’ PUMPKIN JAMBOREE:
Ride the wagons out to the pumpkin patch to search for your great pumpkin. Our pumpkins range from a couple of pounds to more than 150 pounds so we are sure to have the perfect jack-o-lantern for you! Wagon rides, country music, live entertainment, pony rides, funnel cakes and festival foods make this a fun-filled weekend for everyone! Children’s activities. Petting farm. Missouri Botanical Gardens – Booterflies
October 24
5 to 7 p.m.
Step into the wonder and beauty of butterflies, insects, spiders and their other many-legged friends! Your little bugaboos will be able to play games, create spook-tacular crafts and take home lots of loot after they visit our many Treat Houses. Hand-painted Treat Houses will be sprinkled throughout our outdoor Butterfly Garden. Little Ghosts and Goblins will also be able to spy on the amazing Owl Butterfly, which are only active during dusk and dawn. Admission into the Butterfly House, activities, crafts, treats and goody bags are included in the event ticket price. Reservations required.

Pumpkinland is open Tuesday-Sunday throughout the month of October at both the Maryland Heights and North Hanley locations. The farm markets at all three locations are still open 7 days a week.
General Admission
Pumpkinland is general admission only on weekends. Parties and groups are welcome on Saturdays and Sundays but are not eligible for group rates. Party areas are available free of charge but tables cannot be reserved in advance, it’s a first come, first-served basis. General admission includes access to the whole Pumpkinland play area, petting zoo, corn maze and wagon ride. Concessions, face painting, pumpkin decorating, pony rides and a corn cannon are available on weekends only for an extra charge.
Science Center Science Spooktacular Camp-In
Enjoy a Halloween costume contest, “creepy” chemistry and all of the standard camp-in activites. Every camp-in includes dinner, snack and breakfast, plus a film in the OMNIMAX Theater, an interactive Amazing Science Demonstration, a Planetarium Show, free rein of the Science Center galleries, and – of course – the chance to camp at the Science Center.
Suitable for ages 6 and up, each camp-in requires one adult chaperone for every five campers.
Cost: Members pay $45 per person; non-Members pay $50 per person.

October 24th beginning at 11am kids can trick or treat. They also will have a pet and children’s costume contest and parade that begins at 12:30.
Evening Hayrides and Music at Lone Elk Park
Meet at White-Tail Deer Shelter to enjoy Lone Elk Park like never before. Ride a hay wagon through this beautiful setting and spot Elk, Deer and other wildlife. Later you can warm up by the fire, roast marshmallows and listen to live music. See if you can pick out the sounds of Elk bugling in the distance. Bring a flashlight, lawn chairs are welcome and music starts at 7pm.

History Hayrides at Faust Park (All Ages)
Join in the fun after dark for a hayride around Faust Park. Then wander through candlelit historic homes where refreshments and storytellers await. Warm up with a bonfire and enjoy live music. The Great Candy Exchange – Delta Dental Health Theatre
Children are invited to hand in their unopened Halloween candy in exchange for chances to win prizes and do fun, healthy activities. There will be balloons, face painters, performances, healthy snacks and giveaways. Our 6th annual Great Candy Exchange will take place on Sunday, Nov. 1st, at the St. Louis Science Center located at 5050 Oakland St. Louis, MO 63110. Last year’s event brought in over 600 adults and children from all over the greater metropolitan area and we collected over 3,300 lbs of candy at the event and from school groups. All candy was donated to our Troops through the USO of Missouri. This year we plan to see over 1,000 guests and collect over 5,000 pounds of candy.
