Mark your calendars for the 2016 Tax FREE Shopping holiday for the back to school season!
In Missouri the Tax Free Weekend begins at 12:01 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 5, and runs through Sunday, Aug. 7. The sales tax exemption is limited to:
- Clothing – any article having a taxable value of $100 or less
- School supplies – not to exceed $50 per purchase
- Computer software – taxable value of $350 or less
- Personal computers – not to exceed $3,500
- Computer peripheral devices – not to exceed $3,500.
Here’s a list of the states I’ve found participating so far and links to the items included in the Tax Free Holiday:
Alabama– 12:01 A.M. August 5th – Midnight August 7th
Arkansas– 12:01 A.M. August 6th – August 7th
Florida– August 5 through August 7th
Georgia- July 30 – July 31st
Iowa– August 5th – 6th
Louisiana– August 5th – 6th
Maryland– August 14th – 20th
Mississippi– July 29th – 30th
Missouri– August 5th – 7th (be sure to check HERE to see if your county has opted out of the tax free weekend)
New Mexico– August 5th – 7th
Ohio– August 5th – 7th
Oklahoma– August 5th – 7th
South Carolina– August 5th – 7th
Tennessee– July 29th – 31st
Texas– August 5th – 7th
Virginia– August 5th – 7th
