Most of you who live in St. Louis have heard the news of Faust being euthanized yesterday. The story started with Stray Rescue of St. Louis finding Faust in a coma and frozen. After being treated she was sent to VSS who provides around the clock care for animals in crisis situations. Yesterday Faust bit a Vet Tech and was sent to St. Louis County Animal Control who euthanized her. Although it’s hard to find any good in this story, my hope is that communication improves as well as regulations and compassion for not only people but animals. I also believe that Faust’s memory should be preserved and one thing we can do as a community is adopt if we are able.
Here is the information for the animals currently at the Saint Louis County Pet Adoption Center.

Adoption Requirements
Adopters must be 18 years of age and apply in person. Bring with you a valid driver’s license or state issued ID card.
The adoption process begins with completing the Adoption Interest Questionnaire and an interview with one of our Adoption Counselors. Please note that this is a screening process and additional information and/or applications may be required.
The Adoption Counselor will help match you with the right pet given your family’s needs and lifestyle. Please allow sufficient time to get acquainted with the pets as well as complete the adoption questionnaire and interview.
A meet and greet is strongly recommended when adopting a dog if one already lives in the home but is not required.
The adoption fee is $40.00 for all pets and we accept cash, check, and credit card.
