Thinking of moving to Spain? Whether you intend to make the move full time or just a part-time retreat to beat the grey weather at home during the winter, there are so many wonderful places throughout the country to choose from.
-
Madrid
Madrid is a multicultural city and has everything you can possibly want. As one of the hubs for expats, it is also very multi-lingual, with English-speaking communities throughout the city — English being the lingua franca amongst all other expats.
It’s easy to make friends in Madrid, and with an excellent healthcare system, school system, public transport and a surprisingly affordable accommodation sector, it’s definitely one of the top places to move in Spain.
-
Barcelona
Spain’s other mecca is Barcelona, which is home to some stunning, and even at times, otherworldly architecture. Located in the region of Catalonia, Barcelona has an entirely different vibe to almost any other city in Spain.
You also get the benefit of having the Pyrenees Mountains on one side, and the Mediterranean Sea on the other. Expats have a great time living here, as it is an affordable, welcoming city to all.
-
Costa Blanca
Spain has many stunning coastlines, and one of them is Costa Blanca. In this region, the best city to live in is certainly Alicante, where the majority of expats live. It is a tourist town, and many people flock to this region in summer to enjoy the beautiful beaches and crystal waters, but for those living here, it is very affordable. It is much cheaper, for example, to live here than in Madrid or Barcelona.
-
Costa del Sol
Costa del Sol is another great place to live in Spain. With stunning villas for sale BY BRIGHT between some of the biggest places to visit, private beaches, great cities, and a mixture of contemporary and history charm, this can be the ideal coastline to live in.
One of the highlights of the coastline is certainly Malaga, which is both modern and ancient, and offers a great mix of experiences that many move to Spain for.
Expats flock to this region for a thriving cultural scene that they can enjoy year-round, with things to do for the whole family. It is perfect whether you only move for vacation or are relocating full time. English is widely spoken here, and there are even English-speaking schools for your kids if the move is full-time.
